Obtaining a Collaborative Developer's License Agreement

This license allows you to inspect the EnergyPlus source code in-house and to create derivative works from it for non-commercial purposes. This license requires that you provide, at no cost, to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory any improvements you make and such improvements (other than user interfaces) will be considered for incorporation into a future version of EnergyPlus. If you want to distribute your derivative work, you must obtain a Distribution License Agreement. Click here for more information on the Collaborative Developer's License Agreement and other EnergyPlus license types.

  1. Please print out two copies of the EnergyPlus Collaborative Developer's License/Agreement, below. You should fill out both copies of the agreement, sign them and mail both to us; we will return one countersigned copy to you.

  2. The licensing fee is US$250. Payment should be made in U.S. dollars, via check made payable to "The Regents of the University of California (EnergyPlus) ". The licensing fee is waived for U.S. Government agencies and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory EnergyPlus subcontractors.

  3. At the top of page 1, please be certain to fill in the current Version Number of EnergyPlus.

  4. In the middle of page 1, please fill in all the blank spaces on both copies, entering your name and address and other contact information.

  5. Write "None" when you are asked whether there is a Berkeley Lab R&D Subcontract Number (unless you have executed an official LBNL R&D Subcontract for your project).

  6. Sign and date both copies.
